Infrastructure Painting

infastructure painting
Our Infrastructure Painting division is a specialist branch of the company which brings together expertise and experience in the surface preparation and application of specialist coatings.

Our customers include National Grid (coating of gas holders, above ground installations and sub stations), Network Rail via main contractors (structural steelwork, over platform bridges, station canopies), Severn Trent Water (painting of pumping stations and sewage works as well as building maintenance) and BOC Gases (national vessel painting programme on location wherever a BOC vessel is situated throughout the UK).

Our company procedures and safe systems of work are audited and accredited to a number of standards and demonstrate our commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Platinum CSCS cardholder certificate (over 90% of site personnel are CSCS cardholders).
  • Our Quality Management System is registered to ISO 9001:2008
  • Our Environmental management system is registered to ISO 14001:2004.
  • NHSS19A – National Highways Standard Sector Scheme 19A, which works in line with our ISO 9001 QMS.
  • We have a competence management system audited to meet the requirements of Achilles Link Up Qualified via Audit (previously known as Link Up Proof).

These accreditations mean we can meet the exacting standards of prestigious organisations such as the Highways Agency and Network Rail.

Safety is the most important element of infrastructure painting that is why Bagnalls directly employs (and sponsors) painting personnel so that our investment in their training and development can be retained. In addition to the standard health and safety training given to all Bagnalls employees we carefully select key individuals to meet the requirements of PTS (Platform Track Safety) and ICATS (Industrial Coatings Applicator Training Scheme). Both these training programmes require personnel to meet rigorous standards which mean that our painters have a high level of technical competence and capability in the surface preparation and application of industrial coatings in high risk and complex industrial environments.

In addition, we have trained personnel who have achieved the Institute of Corrosion (ICORR) Paint Inspectors course Level I and II. This means that not only do we apply coatings to specification but have qualified personnel to check levels of surface preparation, wet film thicknesses and application conditions have all been adhered to as cited in the specification.

We have excellent working relationships with paint manufacturers, and would look to involve them when specifying any works and would keep up to date with any technological advancements and new products which may deliver increased value or cost savings, through reduced time, initial cost, increased durability, less maintenance or reduced environmental impact.

Focussing on safety, quality, the environment, cost and communication our teams of experienced personnel provide the Project Management skills to create an opportunity for customers to make significant time and cost savings through reduced administration and management input.
